ArtMed inSight uses art as a means of unlocking insight and enhancing visual diagnostic and communication skills.

Our sessions help sharpen the perceptual abilities and heighten the visual sensibilities of medical students, clinicians and healthcare practitioners. The experience serves to increase self-awareness and empathic intelligence while developing technical and communications skills vital to clinical excellence.

We have created a diverse but focused series of workshops and programs which include the close observation and exploration of art from the world’s great museums, interactive discussions as well as hands-on art, writing, and observational exercises.

Why Art and Medicine?
Accurate observation increased 38% for Harvard medical students after taking an art class based on art observation. Observation is an important contributor to accurate diagnosis.

Physicians’ communication skills can be expanded using art observation techniques to develop increased awareness of patient conditions.
